D1 High School Update

D1 Varsity Team

The D1 season ended with a disappointing loss to Dallas Jesuit but the Scots hope to rebound and play to their potential in the playoffs. The season has mainly consisted of low scoring defensive battles and fantastic play by goalie Cobly Kneese. The path to the D1 state championship is now clear and this team plans on showing what all the pre-season hype was about. This team is stacked with both defensive and offensive all-stars not only on the field but also on the sideline. The Scots have depth and talent this season at every position and will begin their run for a state championship this Sunday at John Clark Stadium at 3:00pm in Plano. Please come and support the Scots this weekend.

This past weekend the coaches of the THSLL (Texas High School Lacrosse League) got together and voted on individual awards and the Scots were well represented with the following awards:

Hugo Reisenbichler, Senior Captain, All-State Midfield
Kevin Ken, Senior Captain, All-State Midfield
Cole Ogden, Senior Captain, All-State Defense
Colby Kneese, Junior, All-State Goalie
Jackson Durham, Junior, All-State Attack

Carter McDade, Senior, Honorable Mention All-District Midfield
Case Carpenter, Senior, Honorable Mention All-District LSM
Alex Fronterhouse, Senior, Honorable Mention All-District Defense
Chase Jackson, Junior, Honorable Mention All-District Face Off
Kyle Massimilian, Sophomore, Honorable Mention All-District Face Off

D2 Fly's Into Playoffs

D2 Varsity Team

The D2 Varsity team won an elimination playoff game against Greenhill this past Monday night and is heading into the playoffs full of confidence. The 18-7 victory proved that this team is starting to gel and work together as an offensive and defensive unit. The goalie play by Gavin McGuire has been a steady source of security for this team and they can be explosive offensively. What is so impressive about our D2 team is that we (HP) do not allow seniors to play on D2 thus forcing underclassmen to step up and perform against older more mature players. This team is led by a core of Juniors and some very talented Freshmen and Sophomores.

There is a send off for the D2 team TODAY at 4:45pm at Highlander as they travel to San Antonio to make a run for a state championship.

This past weekend the coaches of the THSLL (Texas High School Lacrosse League) got together and voted on individual awards and the Scots were well represented with the following awards:

Jeffrey Kupp, Junior Captain, All-State Midfield
Max Holsomback, Sophomore, All-State Attack
Harrison Hoy, Junior, All-District Defense
Gavin McGuire, Junior, All-District Goalie
Paxton Alexander, Freshman, All-District Midfield

JV Concludes Season

JV Team

The JV squad has concluded a very successful 10-5 season. There was a lot coaching changes this year and the club sent a clear message that our JV team is vitally important to the development of our players. Adding Zack Colburn and Bruce Nolley to the JV coaching staff was a great move by the club as these boys progressively got better during the season. We are proud of their effort this season and can not wait to see all our JV players back next year.

Lacrosse Factory Update

7-8 D1 Team

Bantam and Youth is the secret to our success at Highland Park. By the time a player sets foot on varsity team he could have been within our system for 11 years, 22 seasons, and coached by nearly 40 coaches. This feeder program can give a glimpse into the future of Highland Park Lacrosse and the future looks very bright.

ALL of our Youth Teams (7) made the final four playoff tournament in their division.  Meaning EVERY player grades 5th - 8th will have a chance for a championship.

Tonight you have the opportunity to see our 7-8 D1 Team take on ESD at Highlander.  The game starts at 7:30pm and should be a lot of fun.

The Bantam season was another successful spring. We will conclude the bantam season with a playday this weekend. Bantam is in so many ways the purest aspect of our club and the sport of lacrosse. Our goal in Bantam is to create the love for the game and seeing small smiling faces in lacrosse gear!

The HP Factory is OPEN and producing some very talented players as we prepare them for high school.

Go Scots!
