Highland Park opened with an emphatic statement by soundly defeating visiting Dripping Springs 20-0 at Highlander on Sunday. Under seasonably gray February skies and cooler temps, the Scots heated up quickly with an onslaught of scoring spread rather evenly between a fiesty attack, a physical midfield, and a opportunistic defenders.
The game provided the Scots' new look offense ample time to find its rhythm under first year OC Garret Leadmon. Defensively, OC Matt Dunn's talented group helped to shut out the Tigers, allowing only 5 shots the entire game.
Face off duties were split admirably between Junior JR Faria and Sophomore Owen Laszewski, who combined to to 77% on the day, giving the Scots opportunities time and time again. Overall a great start to the 2025 Season.
The Scots travel to Houston this weekend to take on Cypress Woods (Saturday, 6pm) and Strake Jesuit (Sunday, 1pm). Both games will be broadcast live on GameOn Sports. Catch all the action here: https://www.gameonsportsnetwork.com/hp_lax_d1/
