HP Scots LAX --- Your support is needed

Dear Parents and Friends of Highland Park Boys Lacrosse,

It is that time of year again! We have successfully completed our fall lacrosse programs and are quickly gearing up for our 16th season of Fighting Scot Lacrosse. Our 600 players and coaches have worked hard over this past summer and fall, continuing to develop their skills and prepare for our 2012 season.

We are very proud of our players, coaches, volunteers,  parents and sponsors who make Highland Park Boys Lacrosse the premiere boys lacrosse program in Texas.  Without your participation, financial support and generous time contributions, we would not be experiencing the significant growth and interest in our program.

Each year, our high school program is approached by many nationally ranked high school teams to play games as part of our regular season. In addition, we are invited to one or two highly competitive tournaments in the East/Northeast, gaining national exposure.  These opportunities give our boys tremendous east coast exposure for college recruiting and it gives our program added visibility, helping us attract quality coaches from out of state.  We believe that the success our high school program enjoys is a direct result of our development efforts of our bantam and youth programs.

We would like to cordially invite all of you to attend our annual Highland Park Boys Lacrosse Auction and Parent Party.   This year our event will be held at The Wisteria Outlet near Love Field on Saturday, January 28th, 2012. We will have a great group of items to bid on including vacation home usage and signed college lacrosse equipment from our alumni and friends.   We also want to ask you to please review our individual and corporate sponsor forms, as well as our auction donation form attached to this email. We are grateful for any support you can offer.

As always, our fundraising efforts are primarily used to pay for the day to day operations of our club.  The player fees we charge at the bantam, youth and high school level are purposefully kept below the actual costs associated with the operations of our program, but we need your help to keep it that way.

For those of you who are new to the program, the donations from parents help offset operational costs and make major capital expenditures possible.  As a club program, we do not receive any financial support from the HPISD. We have historically spent $25,000 - $30,000 each year to provide and maintain three practice/game fields at the Southwest Airlines property for our high school, youth and bantam teams.  In addition, the club spends between $15,000 and $20,000 each year to rent Highlander Stadium for games and practices.   We also pay fees for Glencoe Park, Longfellow, Rusk and Williams for our youth and bantam teams as needed to accommodate alternate facilities.

In addition this year, we expect to need $40,000 - $50,000 for preparation of the newly acquired fields near the current Southwest Airlines fields.  We have a goal of raising $100,000 through our annual auction party, individual and corporate sponsorships.

We are very aware of what a difficult time it is to raise money, but your support is more critical than ever.  We sincerely appreciate your consideration and hope that you will give at whatever level fits your particular circumstances.

Your donation to Highland Park Boys Lacrosse, Inc. 501(c)(3) is tax deductible.

We have an exciting year ahead and look forward to seeing everyone at the games.  If you are interested in learning more about the individual and corporate sponsorship opportunities available, please contact:
