Highland Park Boys Lacrosse, Inc. is a non profit 501 (c) 3 governed by a volunteer board. The Highland Park Lacrosse team was founded in the winter of 1995 with 21 players and has now grown to over 550 players. HP was one of the first youth teams involved with what would become known as the North Texas Youth Lacrosse Association in 1998.
Our youth program is a member program of the North Texas Lacrosse Youth Association (NTYLA) league. The High School program is a member of Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL). Players who do not reside in the Highland Park School District will not be registered with Highland Park Boys Lacrosse.
Former HP lacrosse players have played in college programs such as Denison, Denver, Duke, Hofstra, Hampden-Sydney, Lynchburg, St. Joseph, Swarthmore, TCU, Texas, Villanova, Washington & Lee and Whittier.
Coach Derek Thomson became the new Highland Park Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach in the fall of 2003. In the spring of 2004 the Highland Park Varsity Lacrosse team under the leadership of Coach Thomson, won its first Texas High School DI Lacrosse Championship. During the 2005 season the Varsity team went 17-0 to capture its second Texas High School DI Lacrosse Championship. In 2008, the Varsity team went 17-3 and captured its third Championship and the DII Team won its first Texas High School DII Lacrosse Championship. The Varsity team went 18-1 in 2009 and in 2010 became the first team in Texas to be ranked nationally in the Top 25 with a 16-2 season record and became the only Texas program to win three consecutive DI State Champions (2008, 2009, 2010).
